Creamy Botanical Butter · Body Care & Formulation
A rich, creamy botanical butter prized for its versatility in skincare, body care, and handcrafted formulation. Organic Refined Shea Butter softens readily with the warmth of the skin, helping leave dry-feeling areas smooth, comforted, and deeply conditioned.
Its pliable texture makes it a foundational ingredient for body butters, balms, salves, massage products, lotion bars, hand and foot care, and countless botanical creations. Use it alone as an intensive moisturizer or combine it with carrier oils, waxes, and other butters to create a customized texture.
Organic Refined Shea Butter offers substantial conditioning with a softer, more pliable texture than Cocoa Butter. It melts gradually on contact and adds creaminess, richness, and body to balms, salves, body butters, bars, lip care, grooming products, massage formulas, and targeted care for dry areas.
Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter.
Derived from the kernels of the shea tree.
Refined for a mild, neutral aroma with a creamy white to ivory color.
Rich, creamy, semi-firm, pliable, and slow-melting on warm skin.
Apply sparingly on its own or melt and blend with complementary carrier oils, botanical butters, waxes, and appropriately selected aromatic ingredients.
Warm a small amount between the hands and massage into elbows, knees, heels, hands, feet, and other dry-feeling areas.
Blend with liquid carrier oils or softer butters to create whipped or unwhipped body-care formulations.
Incorporate into targeted balms, salves, cuticle products, and protective anhydrous body-care blends.
Combine with firm butters and waxes to create lotion bars, massage bars, solid balms, and body melts.
Shea Butter benefits from gentle, controlled heating. Excessive heating or repeated temperature fluctuations may contribute to a grainy or uneven texture in the finished product.
Weigh the Shea Butter and all other formulation ingredients for accurate, repeatable results.
Use a double boiler or controlled water bath and heat only until the butter has melted fully.
Mix with the remaining ingredients, add heat-sensitive materials during cool-down, and use a consistent cooling method.
Suggested starting ranges are 20–80% for body butters, 5–30% for balms and salves, 10–40% for lotion or massage bars, 5–20% for lip care, 10–50% for hand or foot care, 2–15% for emulsified creams, and 5–25% for beard balms. Blend with liquid oils, other butters, or waxes to adjust glide and firmness. Melt completely and cool consistently to help reduce graininess.
For external cosmetic and formulation use only. Apply to healthy, intact skin.
Please note: Natural variation in firmness and surface appearance may occur. Shea Butter may soften or partially melt during warm shipping conditions and become firm again after returning to a cooler environment. This temperature change does not necessarily affect its intended formulation use.
