Rich Botanical Butter · Body Care & Formulation
A rich botanical butter prized for its luxurious texture, firm structure, and naturally comforting cocoa aroma. Cocoa Butter melts gradually on contact with warm skin, making it a favorite ingredient for body butters, lotion bars, balms, massage bars, lip-care products, and handcrafted wellness formulations.
Derived from cocoa beans, this versatile butter contributes firmness, richness, and a velvety conditioned finish to oil-based products. Its natural aroma adds warmth and character while helping transform simple body-care formulas into deeply comforting sensory rituals.
Cocoa Butter is a firm botanical butter that softens with body heat and adds structure, richness, and a slower melt to body butters, balms, lotion bars, massage bars, lip care, and targeted dry-skin products. Its natural cocoa aroma and firmness can be balanced with softer butters and lightweight liquid oils.
Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Butter.
Derived from the beans of the cacao tree.
Naturally cocoa-like with an ivory, cream, or pale yellow appearance.
Firm and brittle when cool, with a smooth, gradual melt on warm skin.
Melt gently and combine with complementary carrier oils, waxes, butters, and appropriately selected aromatic ingredients to create customized anhydrous body-care products.
Blend with softer butters and liquid oils to create rich whipped or unwhipped body-care formulations.
Use to add firmness, structure, and a slow skin-contact melt to solid moisturizing bars.
Incorporate into targeted balms, salves, and protective anhydrous products for added body and richness.
Add to properly developed lip products, cuticle balms, heel care, and other concentrated moisture treatments.
Cocoa Butter should be melted with gentle, controlled heat. Excessive or repeated heating may affect its aroma, texture, and crystallization behavior.
Weigh the Cocoa Butter and all other formula ingredients accurately for consistent, repeatable results.
Use a double boiler or controlled water bath and heat only until the butter has fully melted.
Combine with the remaining ingredients, mix thoroughly, and cool according to the needs of the finished formula.
Practical starting ranges are 10–40% for body butters, 20–60% for lotion or massage bars, 5–30% for balms and salves, 5–25% for lip care, 2–10% for emulsified creams, and 10–35% for hand or foot treatments. Melt gently, pair with liquid oils or softer butters as needed, and use controlled cooling to reduce graininess. Evaluate the finished texture in its intended climate and packaging.
Cocoa Butter has a naturally noticeable aroma. Choose essential oils and aromatic ingredients that complement its warm cocoa character rather than attempting to cover it completely.
For external cosmetic and formulation use only.
Please note: Natural variations in color, aroma, firmness, and surface appearance may occur. Cocoa Butter may soften or partially melt during warm shipping conditions and become firm again after returning to a cooler environment.
