Pure Intox sources through carefully selected aromatherapy and botanical suppliers known for technical expertise, traceability, testing, and established relationships with growers, farms, distillers, wild-crafters, and producers around the world.
We do not purchase oils solely because they are inexpensive or readily available. Each material must be appropriate for the formula, supported by meaningful documentation, and consistent with our quality and safety standards.

Depending on the plant and source, materials may be certified organic, organically cultivated, unsprayed, responsibly cultivated, or wildcrafted.

Because essential oils are agricultural products, an oil's source may change when harvest conditions, availability, sustainability, or batch quality require a more appropriate selection. The Pure Intox standard remains consistent even when the qualified source changes.
Testing & Evaluation

The exact quality-control panel varies by botanical, supplier, and material. Depending on the oil, supplier testing may include the following analytical and sensory assessments.
Aroma, appearance, color, clarity, and the material's overall sensory character are evaluated against expectations for the botanical.
Gas chromatography–mass spectrometry separates and identifies volatile constituents to create a chemical profile of the oil.
Testing may include specific gravity, refractive index, optical rotation, flash point, and other botanical-specific measurements.
Supplier lot and production information connects the received raw material with Pure Intox inventory and finished-product records.
Transparency note: Laboratory and quality-control testing may be performed or commissioned by the qualified supplier rather than directly by Pure Intox. Pure Intox reviews and retains available batch documentation as part of our material-approval process. Applicable GC/MS reports are available upon request.

Does Pure Intox purchase directly from farms?
Pure Intox primarily purchases through qualified aromatherapy and botanical suppliers that maintain direct or established relationships with growers, farms, distillers, wild-crafters, cooperatives, and producers. We do not imply that Pure Intox has personally visited every farm or producer represented in our supply chain.
Are all Pure Intox essential oils organic?
Not every oil is represented as certified organic. Depending on the botanical and source, materials may be certified organic, organically cultivated, unsprayed, responsibly cultivated, or wildcrafted. Certification status is communicated only when it is supported by the applicable documentation.
Does Pure Intox review GC/MS testing?
Yes. Batch-specific GC/MS information supplied for our essential oils is reviewed as part of our material-approval process. GC/MS analysis helps describe an oil's volatile chemical profile, but it is considered alongside botanical identity, sensory evaluation, traceability, freshness, and intended use.
Can customers request a GC/MS report?
Applicable GC/MS reports are available upon request. Because essential oils are agricultural materials and batches change, requests are matched to the relevant oil and available batch documentation.
Does GC/MS testing prove that an oil is safe?
GC/MS testing provides important information about chemical composition and authenticity, but it does not by itself establish that every use or concentration is appropriate. Dilution, application method, oxidation, dermal limits, phototoxicity, sensitization, and individual circumstances must also be considered.
Why might the source of an oil change?
Harvest quality, climate, crop availability, sustainability, producer capacity, and chemical profile can vary. Pure Intox may select an oil from another qualified source when that material better meets our standards. The approval criteria remain consistent regardless of supplier.
Are Pure Intox oils “therapeutic grade”?
“Therapeutic grade” is not a universally regulated essential-oil grade. Pure Intox instead communicates specific, supportable standards such as botanical identity, supplier qualification, batch documentation, GC/MS review, professional formulation, and responsible safety guidance.
