How to Prepare & Fill

Inspect and prepare the bottle according to the needs of the finished formulation. Ensure all components are clean and completely dry before filling.

Inspect & Clean

Inspect the PET bottle, sprayer, dip tube, and protective overcap before use. Clean or sanitize components as appropriate for the intended formulation and allow them to dry fully before filling.

Step 02 · Fill

Transfer the Formula

Use a mini funnel or controlled pouring method to transfer the finished, compatible formulation into the bottle. Leave appropriate headspace for the sprayer and dip tube.

Step 03 · Finish

Secure, Prime & Label

Attach the sprayer, tighten securely, prime the pump, test the mist pattern, replace the protective overcap, and label the bottle with its contents and preparation date.

Formulation & Sprayer Compatibility

Fine-mist sprayers perform best with thin, particle-free formulas. Thick products, undissolved powders, botanicals, sediment, or excessive oil may clog the dip tube or interfere with the mist pattern. Test the complete formula, sprayer, pH, and packaging before preparing larger batches. Water-based products require appropriate preservation and microbial testing. Clear PET offers limited light protection, so protect light-sensitive formulas from direct sunlight.

Essential Oils in Water-Based Sprays

Essential oils do not dissolve in water. Simply shaking a bottle may temporarily move oil droplets through the formula, but it does not create consistent dilution or reliable dispersion.

Pure Intox formulation note: Solubilizers and preservatives serve different purposes. A solubilizer helps disperse small quantities of oil throughout a water-based formula. A preservative helps protect the formula against bacteria, yeast, and mold. Many mist formulations require both.

Cleaning, Reuse & Care

Rinse all components well
