Retinol is a specific vitamin A compound used as a cosmetic active. Rosehip seed oil is a botanical lipid with its own fatty-acid and minor-component profile; it should not be considered interchangeable with a formulated retinol ingredient.

A product containing rosehip seed oil therefore should not automatically be expected to perform like a retinol formulation.

Oxidative Stability
