Extra Virgin Olive Oil

INCI: Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil

Time-honored botanical nourishment for soft, conditioned, and comfortably moisturized skin.

What Is Extra Virgin Olive Oil?

Extra Virgin Olive Oil, commonly known as EVOO, is obtained from the fruit of the olive tree, Olea europaea. Used for centuries in traditional body care, olive oil remains a valued cosmetic ingredient because of its rich emollient character and naturally occurring fatty acids.

Olive Oil is naturally rich in oleic acid and also contains other lipid components and antioxidant compounds. Its substantial texture makes it particularly well suited to nourishing balms, salves, body oils, and botanical oil infusions.

Benefits

Extra Virgin Olive Oil functions as an emollient, helping soften and condition the skin while supporting the skin's natural moisture barrier. Its lipid-rich character helps reduce moisture loss and leaves dry skin feeling supple and comfortably nourished.

Its rich composition also makes Olive Oil an effective carrier for oil-infused botanicals. During infusion, selected oil-soluble constituents from plant material become incorporated into the oil, allowing the carrier and botanical infusion to become part of the finished formulation.

Why We Use Extra Virgin Olive Oil

At Pure Intox, Extra Virgin Olive Oil is selected for botanical body-care formulations where rich emollience, skin conditioning, and versatility are especially valuable.

In Neural Recovery Balm, Olive Oil serves as the carrier for the Arnica botanical infusion, creating a nourishing oil base that combines the conditioning qualities of Olive Oil with the botanical character of infused Arnica.

In handcrafted soap, Olive Oil contributes to the conditioning character of the bar and works alongside other plant oils and butters to create a balanced cleansing experience with a smooth, comfortable skin feel.

Sourcing & Quality

Extra Virgin Olive Oil is obtained from the fruit of Olea europaea. We select quality Olive Oil for its consistency, characteristic fatty-acid profile, and compatibility with botanical infusions and anhydrous body-care formulations.

Careful handling and storage help protect the oil from unnecessary exposure to heat, light, and air while maintaining the sensory and functional qualities desired in the finished formulation.
