Plant-Derived Solubilizer · Sprays, Mists & Cleansers
A plant-derived formulation ingredient designed to help disperse small amounts of essential oils and fragrance materials within water-based products. Natural Solubilizer, also known as Caprylyl/Capryl Glucoside, is a useful addition to room sprays, linen sprays, yoga mat sprays, shower mists, body mists, cleansers, and other botanical creations.
Because essential oils and water do not naturally combine, a suitable solubilizing system is often needed to create a more uniform and consistent finished product. Caprylyl/Capryl Glucoside offers both solubilizing and mild cleansing properties, making it especially useful in formulas where dispersion and light surfactant performance are desired.
Natural Solubilizer helps disperse small amounts of essential oil into compatible water-based sprays, mists, cleansers, and washes. The required ratio varies by oil, formula, and clarity goal, so begin with a small measured test batch and evaluate the finished product over time.
Caprylyl/Capryl Glucoside.
Clear to pale yellow with a fluid or lightly viscous consistency.
Solubilizer, dispersing aid, mild surfactant, and cleansing support.
Sprays, mists, cleansers, washes, and water-based formulations.
Use within a properly developed water-based formulation whenever small amounts of essential oil or fragrance material require improved dispersion.
Use to help distribute aromatic materials throughout water-based home-fragrance formulations.
Incorporate into skin-appropriate or shower-focused aromatic sprays developed with suitable essential-oil levels.
Use in properly preserved surface-spray formulas designed for compatible yoga mat materials.
Add to facial, hand, body, and household-cleansing formulas where mild surfactant performance is appropriate.
The most effective ratio must be determined through small-batch testing. Different essential oils and aromatic blends may require substantially different amounts of solubilizer.
Weigh the essential oils or fragrance materials accurately and record the total percentage.
Combine the aromatic phase with the solubilizer before adding the mixture to the water phase.
Incorporate the premix gradually with gentle stirring, then observe clarity, separation, foam, aroma, and stability over time.
Premix the solubilizer with the essential-oil phase before adding water, measure by weight, mix gently, and allow the sample to rest before assessing clarity, separation, aroma, pH, spray performance, and packaging compatibility. There is no universal solubilizer-to-oil ratio. A solubilizer is not a preservative; water-containing formulas require appropriate preservation and microbial testing.
A finished formula may be clear, translucent, or cloudy depending on its ingredients and ratios. Persistent separation, sediment, or an unstable spray pattern signals that the formula needs adjustment and further stability testing.
For external cosmetic, household, and formulation use only.
Please note: Finished-product safety depends on the complete formula, ingredient percentages, pH, preservation, sanitation, packaging, stability, and intended use.
